Happy 29th Birthday Tim!

As if this time of year couldn't get any crazier, we celebrated Tim's birthday on the 13th. We celebrated the day with a bunch of friends hanging out drinking warm drinks, eating apple pie, and a white elephant gift exchange. Tim is showing off his new beach cruiser here.

O' Christmas Tree

This is the first year that Tim and I decorated a tree together. We had tons of fun deciding which ornaments to put up between the two of us. I must say, our teeny tree turned out quite nice and smells great too.

Tis the Season

The San Luis Obispo Christmas Parade! It was definitely cold but seeing the Calvary Christmas float, the bike night crew, and Santa made it all worth it.

Introducing Cruella Devil and Lucky the Dalmation

That's right.... Cruella and Lucky were the 2007 "Fall Fun Party" couples costume winners! The competition was stiff between the Tortoise and the Hare, Scooby Doo and the gang, and many more. Tim and I had such a fun time getting ready for this Halloween costume party. We did it in record time of about an hour and a half. Walking into the party we were barely recognizable (I think the wig did it for me, maybe it was the ears for Tim) I had a great time all night walking Tim around on a leash (which he didn't seem to mind too much) and socializing. I have never been one to really go all out on dressing up, but I don't believe there will be any turning back after this one. The only bummer of the night was leaving the party and asking ourselves, "what on earth are we going to come up with next year to top this one!"

House Progress

At the risk of being harrassed for working on the house too much, here's a little update on the progress. I'm in a big hurry to get the roof done because sporadic rains are already rolling through! Hopefully the shingles will be on in a week or two and then i can relax a bit. Cheers-

For Men Only

Some of you men bloggers out there may be thinking that rings and churches are nice and all but our blog is lacking something every relationship needs - testosterone! So this post is for all the dedicated men out there who think that calloused hands and dirty jeans are the way to a woman's heart. In addition to planning our wedding, I (Tim) have been hard at work on a room addition to the house. I'm converting a small bedroom into a true master bedroom with it's own bathroom (finally another bathroom!). I hope you enjoy the little time lapse video. It's amazing how easy two months of sweat labor looks when condensed into a 30 second clip on the internet. Debra and I are both very excited because she gets a walk in closet and i get a door into the backyard! Stay tuned...

Save the Date!

After much discussion we have decided to get married on March 15, 2008 at the Paso Robles Inn. I am thrilled that we have a place! I had no idea how stressful that was going to be.

The Perfect Proposal!

Can you believe it! I had a feeling something was up when I got a delivery on my doorstep Saturday morning. Inside the box on my doorstep was a handpainted Russian doll. My mom had one of these and I used to play with it all the time when I was little. I opened the doll and on the inside was a note telling me to get ready because we were about to head off to Big Sur for the day, and oh by the way, make sure you bring nice dress for dinner.
So we headed to Big Sur.... We stopped along the way at Salmon Creek to check out a really cool waterfall. As we were walking up towards the waterfall, I noticed another Russian doll sitting on a rock in front of us... hmm.... Well this doll had another nice note inside. So as I tried not to think too much about what was going on, we sat and enjoyed the waterfall for a few hours.
Next, it was time to head to the beach at Plaskett Creek. It was a beautiful day, sunny and warm so we decided to walk the beach. (Little did I know Tim was looking for a specific spot, while I thought we were just walking along) So we get to the far South side of the beach and Tim wants to turn around and walk to the North side of the beach. Of course, I complained and said I was hungry and that we should just sit down here and eat.... So he convinced me to walk all the way to the North side of the beach where he pointed to a blanket sitting in the sand. This wasn't any blanket setup either.... Before us sat a dozen roses in in a vase and an assortment of drinks in an ice bucket, the next Russian Doll with another sweet note, and rose petals scattered all over the beach near us. I was really shocked at this, and I know that Tim was really pleased with the work that his sister and friends had done for us.
So... we ate lunch, enjoyed the beach, played some bocce ball, and quite a few hours later he got down on one knee and popped the question. He pulled the next Russian doll out of his pocket and of course the ring was inside! Believe it or not, the day was not over yet. We headed off to Ragged Point to eat dinner. We arrived at the restaurant and our table was the best looking table in the restaurant as the girls had also made a stop by there and placed another dozen roses, rose petals, candles, and the last Russian doll on the table.
Needless to say, the day really was perfect and Tim worked really hard on making sure it was nothing less.
