It is officially that time of year. The latest one of our friends to get hitched was Casey Comstock. They were married in Texas a few weeks ago, and had a small reception in Atascadero this past weekend. Weddings have definitely slowed down for us. It was great to see old friends and catch up. And then the line goes "well, see you at the next wedding." Tim actually commented in the car on the way home that he really liked going to weddings, when he didn't have to attend 13 or so in one summer. I have only had the honor of being a bridesmaid twice while Tim has been a groomsman five times as well as DJing one wedding. My duty as Matron of Honor is coming up in my sister's wedding this summer. The great thing about this latest wedding was that I got to wear one of my bridesmaid dresses. Thanks Tammy!

Easter
We had a great Easter this year as we hosted both Tim's family and Debra's family. We had 14 in all, and it was lots of fun. It was wonderful to have everyone come to us, including grandparents from both sides. We cooked the traditional ham, potatoes, yams, green bean casserole, etc. We now understand why people spend the money for double ovens. Even if you only used it twice a year, it would be worth it. Surprisingly, the meal came off without a hitch! Whew!
We just recently finished the patio in the backyard. It was great to hang out oustide in the beautiful weather on Sunday.
My brother and Tim hanging out under the new gazebo.
The night before, Tim's parents were in town so we decided to color Easter eggs. Then things got crazy....
Tim was in charge of picking the lily's in our front yard for the table. They did make it to the table eventually.
"Rock Stars"
In a vase at last.
After coloring eggs the family had lots of fun with "peep wars". We discovered that Marshmallow peeps provide hours of entertainment in the microwave.

The goal was to equip your peep with the best sword possible (toothpick) and see which one poked the other first. Strategy was the key. The laughs were worth standing in front of all that microwave radiation!

These pictures were taken after church in our front yard. You can definitely tell it's springtime with all of the blooming flowers.
And when all was said and done, we are still eating left overs. Another perk of hosting Easter!

1 Year
We celebrated our first anniversary this past Sunday with a packed day of adventure. Being that it was a Sunday, we were able to attend church in Templeton in the morning. (The same church we were married in) It was so much fun to be back in that tiny white church exactly 1 year later. It was great to sit in the pew and take it all in. After that we grabbed a picnic lunch at a local deli and headed out to find some great wineries in the Paso area. We spent the entire afternoon driving down country roads and exploring. We headed back into SLO for dinner at Thai Palace and then rented a hot tub at Sycamore Mineral Springs to wind down the evening. We pulled the cake topper out of the freezer and gave it a try. We were pleasantly surprised that it tasted just as good as our wedding day. We had heard all the stories about it tasting like cardboard! We must say that the first year just flew by. Here's to our second year of adventure...

A Proud Teachable Moment
Who knew assigning a state report this year in my class would cause a bill to be passed through legislation, a front page article in the newspaper, and national recognition. Check it out...
